The start of our first kids half-mile run. We had 25 entrants the first year and has grown since that time.
Flashback 2007 – T-shirt logo
Our t-shirt logo in 2007 had a southwestern feel to it. The “running guy” image was based on a piece Microsoft Office clip-art. That runner — along with the smaller graphics and font style — made for a popular design.
A variation of the runner guy is still in use today in some of our designs.
Flashback 2006 – Making sense of it all
Our niece Hannah is apparently trying to understand what this running thing is all about. Standing on your head is not much help, but probably doesn’t hurt either.
In 2007 we added a kids run and Hannah — thenĀ 3 years old — participated in her first race. (Her mom probably ran with her.)
Flashback 2006 – Race start
The start of the 2-mile and 5-mile races in 2006. Leading the runners is a family member on a bicycle. It was tough work since it is typically hot and humid in August, and the course is mostly gravel. In latter years we will use ATV riders for leading (and trailing) the racers.
