Another day closer to the 2016 Bellwood Daze River Run. Hopefully the heat that we will see this week will not be around on Saturday, July 30. But if it is, we will have plenty of ice-cold drinks to help cool you off.

Above is a picture from the start of the 2014 Kids Run. We had 50 entrants in the 2014 Kids Run, which is a quick half-mile run held on the paved streets of Bellwood. The race is open to all kids 11 and under, and you are welcome to run or walk along with your children.

We are getting closer to the 2016 Bellwood Daze River Run. The logo above is from the 2013 race, but you can see this year’s t-shirt logo on our website.

Race-day registrations are welcome starting at 7:00 am on Saturday, July 30 and we will have a good supply of t-shirts available. However, if you want to make sure that you get a t-shirt, mail-in your registration today, Thursday, July 21, or register online via the bellwood.run website through Sunday night, July 24. Even if you miss those cutoffs, you can still preregister online through next Thursday, July 28 and avoid filling out a form on race day.

The 2012 design was a take-off on a football scrum jersey.

Today is July 16, so that means that it is only 2 weeks until the 2016 Bellwood Daze River Run. The t-shirt design for 2016 looks to be quite awesome. (And that’s not just my opinion.) The shirt will be Heather Navy 50/50 cotton/polyester blend t-shirt.

The (kokopelli) “running guy” makes his return to this year’s t-shirt design. He is running by cattails and tall grass on his way to where Clear Creek meets the Platte River. Why does he run to the river? Not only because that’s where the 6-mile out-and-back race turns around, but also because it is quite beautiful there. And, he just likes to run.

Also this morning is the Columbus Downtown Runaround. A great race with a great atmosphere.
