Anticipation

Just one more day

Even our youngest volunteer is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2016 Bellwood Daze River Run. We are looking forward to another great River Run.

New this year, packet pick-up will be available on Friday night from 6:00-7:30 at the Burger Bash in downtown Bellwood. We will be set up near the large group of people eating burgers and listening to polka music. Look for a yellow “Packet Pick-up” sign and a blue t-shirt like this:

If you cannot make it to Bellwood on Friday night, race-day packet pick-up and registration starts at 7:00 am on Saturday at St Peter Catholic Church. The Kids Run starts at 8:00 am, and the 2-mile and 6-mile races start at 8:15 am. See our website for more information.

Trophies and Medals

Race day is fast approaching — just two more days to go. You can still preregister online, or wait for race-day registration starting at 7:00 am on Saturday. (The image at the top is around the beginning of mile 3 in the 6-mile run.)

We picked up the trophies and medals yesterday. The trophies for the 2-mile and 6-mile races, and the age-group medals for all three races were donated by 3D Designs in Columbus. The trophies and medals are laser-cut steel with a powder-coat finish. Very nice. First place awards are painted blue and second place awards are silver.

Bellwood Skyline

You can use Google Maps to get to the 2016 Bellwood Daze River Run, or just make your way to Highway 64, midway between Highways 15 and 81. You will be greeted by the Bellwood skyline as seen above. Make a turn at the Ampride gas station along the highway and go one block north to St Peter Catholic Church. Parking is available near the church and on the side streets of Bellwood.

Don’t forget to check out the other Bellwood Daze events on the bellwoodnebraska.com website.
